FREAKISH STORMS THREATEN SE QLD - NOVEMBER 11, 2001 A suspicious cell sparked fears today for some Gold Coast residents. The storm was travelling in a SE direction over northern half of the coast. It developed into a wedge shape like a huge funnel. There looked to be a fair bit of movement inside the storm aswell as its fast ground speed, looking like it could have dropped a tornado or water spout over the ocean. However, there were no reports of anything of the kind, just a spectacular site watching this peculiar storm move over the coast. Steve Baynham took these stills from his rooftop.
Jason Rainforest also caught some of the action from around his area between South Brisbane and Gold Coast
