SPECTACULAR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS - NOVEMBER 7, 1999 A small but photogenic thunderstorm NW of Brisbane late Sunday morning set the stage for a great day. Several more thunderstorms developed throughtout the afternoon, but during the late afternoon the sky really exploded with several strong storms developing over central and northern parts of SE QLD. Hail (up to golf ball size reported by Brisbane Storm Chaser Narelle Bowmaker) was reported from several Brisbane suburbs. Powerlines were also brought down in the Sunshine coast hinterland, with many suburbs blacked out over SE QLD. There were also several reports of wall clouds and protusions and even a funnel from the storms. Brisbane Storm Chaser John Woodbridgereported rotation in at least 6 different storms!! John also recieved winds from 90-120 km/h from a microburst during the late afternoon. Andrew Maben took
