SPECTACULAR THUNDERSTORMS - DECEMBER 8, 2000 A full report will be written up ASAP - in the meantime have a look at the following pictures taken by Jason Rainforest and Ben Quinn. Mid afternoon a storm complex formed in NE NSW, and before long an impressive cell developed on what appeared to be the SE end. The next spectacular storm moved through the southern suburbs of Brisbane late in the afternoon, with a very impressive turbulent underside of the shelf cloud.
As we drove south again, an interesting feature was photographed on the leading edge of a cell (first picture), and then Jason Rainforest managed to capture an anvil crawler running through a rainbow! Around the same time Steve Baynham was taking the following photos
To finish off a great day, we were then treated to a spectacular sunset.
